Memorial Day Program

Post 121 of the American Legion and The Jay Historical Society will present a MEMORIAL DAY service at Jay United Methodist Church on Monday May 25 at 6pm. Everyone is invited This will be a thoughtful and respectful way to close out your Memorial Day Weekend.  The Church is located in Jay on Highway 89, just South of Downtown. Please gather family and join us for a memorable service of music, readings and a message.

The Edeker- Dubose Post of the American Legion is in the process of re-organizing to benefit local veterans and the community.  Past members are encouraged to contact any of the people in this photo and discover how the organization hopes to move forward.

Look for more news about the American Legion Post from the Historical Society and from THIS web page in the future. Bookmark the page for updates, or check off the "FOLLOW" link for notice by email when a new post appears.

Here is a special history of the Edeker-Dubose American Legion Post. The post has a long history of service to veterans and the community.  Robert Edeker died in World War I and Jefferson Dubose died in World War II. They are remembered in the name adopted by Post 121.

The Edeker-Dubose Post leadership wants the community to know the post will not operate as a bar from this point forward. The past reputation as a beer hall is being laid to rest.  The Post WILL be hosting social events and encouraging  community activities at the hall.
